This 7,100+ yard course is the centerpiece of Ponderosa living and a first in the Okanagan. Stunningly carved from forest and rock, featuring spectacular views from 500 feet above the lake, the course beckons and challenges golfers of all caliber. Greg Norman’s passion for golf has translated into a stunning collection of courses his company, Greg Norman Golf Course Design, has created. Ponderosa is one of his finest accomplishments.
The original Ponderosa Golf Course was a Peachland icon and regional favorite for more than 30 years, offering unique terrain and Okanagan Lake viewpoints. With the addition of hundreds of acres of new land, Greg Norman was given a blank canvas to create his dream golf course.
Norman and his design team have created a breathtaking 7,100+ yard course that showcases the elevation changes by strategically placing the course’s holes among existing slopes, benches, and forest. Multiple tee areas, bunkering and natural landscaping help define the course, creating a memorable and exciting experience for all levels of players.
The result is a signature championship golf course gently wrapped around the base of Pincushion Mountain, offering unprecedented lake views in a natural setting. The course features a mix of hole lengths and challenges, from a stunning 199-yard Par 3 to an amazing forest-lined, 653-yard Par 5 next door. Wrapping up the experience for golfers will be the 532-yard 18th hole, situated on a ridge running parallel to and offering spectacular views of, Lake Okanagan.
“The character of the site gives us an enormous opportunity to provide a signature course with breathtaking views from all aspects. It’s our goal to utilize the natural features of the site, such as the calm backdrop of Lake Okanagan, the Ponderosa pines and the spectacular views to create a unique golf experience.”
